There's only 1 operational nuclear reactor in Quebec — here's what it's used for

Since 1976, Montreal’s École polytechnique has been home to the only operational nuclear reactor in Quebec, which it uses solely for research purposes. Engineering firm AtkinsRéalis has donated $1 million over five years to the university to support nuclear research.
