Caprice Music Academy launches its first offline branch at Teacher's Colony, Adyar in collaboration with The Alt School.

Chennai, Tamil Nadu Mar 4, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Caprice Music Academy and The Alt School, a leading alternative school that celebrates home schooling over conventional schooling methods, recently teamed up to host after-school music classes for kids and adults in Chennai from March.

The founder of Caprice, Prashanth Ramesh has been in the music industry and a music teacher for almost 10 years now. He says, "I started Caprice Music Academy in 2018 with my friend and music composer Vijay Siddharth when we noticed that the teaching methods in India were not at par with the rest of the world. Most of the music schools here follow the Trinity or ABRSM method, but very few choose to go above and beyond as tutors. Naturally, people then chose to learn music just for the certifications or as a hobby. But the industry has changed so much in the last decade, with a ton of rewarding career options in the music space today. So we want to nurture our students' musical talents and guide them to do more."

The key behind the partnership was Akshaya Ramesh, CEO of Caprice and Prashanth's sister. Hailing from a family of musicians, music has been a huge part of their lives. She says, "I've been to music schools to learn the keyboard and to sing, but I never had a teacher who could instill a sense of purpose and passion in me. Strange enough, our students told us the same when they came to us seeking a good tutor. After swearing off music education for several years, I chose to learn on my own with a little help from my brother, a tutor whose methods are unique and so much fun. That's when I knew that he and I together, could revive the industry with our authenticity. We hope to nurture a community of musically inclined Indian learners and give them more than what their investment of time and money is worth."

What started off as a conversation between the two parties about a much-needed change for the country's archaic educational and teaching methods, led to a first-of-its-kind workshop that team Caprice conducted for the tiny tots of The Alt School. By employing children-friendly exercises, games, and activities, team Caprice introduced the kids' ages 3 to 10 years to the world of music. In addition to this, they delved deeper into how each of us can leverage music to achieve holistic wellness in everyday life. With The Alt School's focus on experiential learning, this collaboration will be one of a kind where Caprice's methods will complement their vision as well as systems.
